St. Mary’s Youth Soccer will hold it’s Annual General Meeting on Monday, June 18th at the Lexington Park Library, Meeting Room B.

What: Free Coerver Clinic for SMYS Players (U9 – U12) age groups on Friday, June 1st
Why: A thank you from Coerver and an opportunity to get exposed to Coerver (for those that may be unfamiliar with them)
Where: Chancellor’s Run Regional Park Field #2
Clinic Times:
5:30 – 6:15 PM (Age groups U9 & U10 boys and girls)
6:15 – 7:15 PM (Age groups U11 boys and girls)
7:15 – 8:15 PM (Age groups U12 boys and girls)

St. Mary’s United (SMU), the travel arm of SMYS, will beging tryouts for premier-level teams in age groups U9 through U19, boys and girls in the next couple of weeks.  SMYS has recently updated its tryout policy to include new guidelines on having multiple teams per age group.  The goal is to provide additional SMU travel opportunities for players, focusing on the younger age groups U9 through U12.  Please see the tryout policy for further information (which will be posted this weekend). Please visit the SMU Travel page listed on the left hand column for more information and tryout dates/times.

Following the closure of the Loffler Senior Center for repairs after snow storm damage, SMYS was on the hunt for a place to conduct the monthly meetings needed to make SMYS work.  Enter government contractor, PSIPax, which offered up their conference rooms "whenever needed."  SMYS board members Don Blottenberger (left) and Alan Buster (right), presented PSIPax president, Nasser Basir a plaque recently in the company’s local offices to thank them for the assistance.

The U15 Rockets won the championship game of the Maryland State President's Cup in double overtime.  With this win, they have been invited to represent MSYSA and the state of Maryland over Memorial Day Weekend in the Region 1 President's Cup Tournament played in New Hampshire.  Congrats to the Rockets and their coach, Gary Goodwin!  And have fun in New Hampshire!
